Bree – About 100 drivers linked to the Balkan Krew gathered illegally in Limburg on Friday, Sep 26, 2025, drifting in Bree, Rotem, Maastricht, and Vise, while police quickly dispersed them and documented the cars, reports 24brussels.
Late Friday night, approximately a hundred drivers of luxury and tuned cars congregated for an illegal street event in Limburg, Belgium. The gathering took place around midnight at an industrial estate in Bree. Police swiftly intervened, dispersing the crowd before the situation escalated.
According to Carma police, the initial gathering was not perceived as large. “We did pull over a few cars, but it certainly wasn’t a large-scale operation,” an official stated.
What happened when 100 Balkan Krew drivers drifted in Bree and Dilsen-Stokkem?
As drifting in Bree became untenable, the drivers relocated to an industrial estate in Rotem, situated on the grounds of an old zinc factory, adjacent to the city’s recycling centre. This area features a recently constructed roundabout.
At this site, the drivers executed sharp drifts and high-speed maneuvers, which continued for about 20 minutes until police arrived. Officers cordoned off the vicinity, preventing access and taking photographs of the participating vehicles.
Following the police intervention, some drivers regrouped near Maastricht, crossing the border into the Netherlands. They subsequently proceeded to Vise in Wallonia, where they managed to race and drift for approximately two hours without disruption. Authorities confirmed that these events were organized via online networks and emphasized that such gatherings are illegal and pose significant safety risks.
Although the Balkan Krew officially disbanded, its influence remains. In the past, the group organized multiple illegal tuning events in Limburg, boasting hundreds of members across the Benelux and Germany. Authorities previously dismantled the organization due to violent incidents at its events. Despite its dissolution, many members maintain connections through online chats, enabling them to plan new gatherings without an official framework.
