The visit emphasized Maduro’s commitment to fostering an agro-productive environment, aiming to consolidate Venezuela’s new post-rentier economic model. He praised local advancements in agricultural production and highlighted the community’s role in these developments.
Accompanied by First Lady Cilia Flores, Minister of Communes Ángel Prado, and Caracas Mayor Admiral Carmen Meléndez, Maduro engaged with residents who celebrated the region’s agricultural successes. He stated, “The Era is giving birth to a heart,” reflecting on the positive outcomes of the community’s agricultural efforts.
Mayor Meléndez discussed the beginning of Christmas festivities, showcasing the importance of community involvement. He reiterated, “We have to make a productive plan of the highest level and put the necessary investment so that everyone’s dream is fulfilled,” underscoring the critical role of the people in overcoming challenges.
Further, Maduro addressed the need to move beyond an economy dependent on oil revenues, encouraging the boosting of domestic production.
