(NewsNation) — The day after opening arguments in the double-murder trial of Alex Murdaugh, the first witness gave his testimony.

Sgt. Daniel Greene with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office talked Thursday about finding the bodies of Alex Murdaugh’s wife, Maggie and son, Paul at the scene of the killings. They were both laying facedown, in a pool of blood, he said.
