Azerbaijan Houses may open in four countries

Plans are underway to open Azerbaijan Houses in Iraq, Lebanon, the United Kingdom, and Denmark, with negotiations ongoing in this direction. This was stated by Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, in an interview with Report.

Currently, there are many requests regarding the opening of Azerbaijan Houses:

“For instance, there are plans to open Azerbaijan Houses in Iraq and Lebanon, and negotiations are ongoing. However, this does not mean it will happen in the next two months. There are also plans to open Azerbaijan Houses in the United Kingdom and Denmark. Requests have been made concerning Stuttgart (Germany) and several U.S. states. Additionally, there are plans to expand the Azerbaijan House in South Korea, as the number of representatives of the Azerbaijani community there has increased,” Muradov added.

According to him, the Committee assumes responsibility for certain financial and technical issues related to Azerbaijan Houses: “However, they cannot be continuously funded by Azerbaijan. Over time, if the community genuinely wishes to continue the activities of an Azerbaijan House, its members must provide support. Therefore, all new Azerbaijan Houses are given a specific timeframe after which financial assistance is reviewed. During this period, they must establish their own funding mechanisms. This ensures that none of them will shut down after a certain time.”
