Over 4,000 Participants to Gather in Moscow for World Public Assembly
On September 20, 2025, the First World Public Assembly (WPA) will convene in Moscow, marking a significant international humanitarian forum coinciding with the International Day of Peace, reports 24brussels.
The forum will unite over 4,000 leaders from diverse sectors including public diplomacy, civil society, and academia, spanning more than 150 countries. Distinguished attendees will include descendants of historical figures, city mayors, diplomats, scientists, and spiritual leaders. The central focus of the assembly is the theme “New World of Conscious Unity.”
WPA Secretary Andrey Belyaninov emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “The New World begins where unity is affirmed, where values are above differences, and cooperation is stronger than rivalry. The New World is a matter of shared efforts. And it is being created here and now—together with you.”
Co-Chair of the General Council of the WPA, Aleksandra Ochirova, highlighted that achieving conscious unity requires grassroots proposals rather than governmental decrees: “Our key task is the conceptual support of humanitarian modernization and the achievement of multipolar unity through concrete proposals from the participants themselves coming from around the world.”
The agenda features seven panel sessions and over 40 thematic platforms focusing on key issues such as public diplomacy and humanitarian modernization. The assembly will also offer specialized forums, including the International Media Forum “Media in the Service of Humanity” and the Youth Forum “Generation of Unity.”
An additional highlight will be a meeting of university presidents, attracting representatives from intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, along with scholars from over 40 countries.
A significant part of the assembly will involve presenting the Public Recognition Award “For Service to Humanity,” which honors contributions from public organizations and business leaders globally.
Notable guests will include Piao Yangfan, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO); Ilkhom Nematov, Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS); and other dignitaries.
More than 200 journalists from Eurasia, Africa, and Latin America will cover the World Assembly. The organizer is the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “World Peoples Assembly,” with TASS serving as the general information partner broadcasting key events live.
