Famed sheriff Buford Pusser who inspired Hollywood’s ‘Walking Tall’ actually murdered his wife, investigators now say

Then-McNairy County Sheriff Buford Pusser, who inspired the 1973 Hollywood movie “Walking Tall”, killed his wife in 1967 and led people to believe she was murdered by his enemies, according to Tennessee officials.
