Controversial Recruitment: In a complex twist of history, the Mossad occasionally recruited former #Nazis and collaborators for specific intelligence purposes. For example, former Waffen-SS officer Otto Skorzeny was recruited by the Mossad to provide information and sabotage the Egyptian missile program. Another former Nazi, Walther Rauff, the inventor of the gas vans, was also briefly a paid informant for a Mossad predecessor.
