- Martha Stewart’s morning starts at 4 a.m. and includes Pilates and New York Times games.
- I followed her routine for a workweek to see if I could learn any productive morning habits.
- Although I struggled at first, I began to notice some benefits within a couple of days.
Martha Stewart is 84 years old, but you wouldn’t guess it — especially when you hear what she does every morning.
The entrepreneur and media personality has long promoted early mornings, saying at a 2021 forum that she never wakes up past 7 a.m. and more recently divulging her days typically start at 4 a.m.
She attributes her brain and physical health to these early starts, and preaches the benefits of a morning routine filled with brain teasers, a nutritional breakfast, and physical activity.
Stewart recently outlined exactly what her mornings look like on the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast, from her wake-up time to morning activities she completes before heading to her New York City office.
I tried following exactly what her mornings look like, and while early mornings initially felt like torture, they quickly became my favorite part of the day.
