The weather is finally chilly. Here’s how to refresh your home for ultimate coziness.

Festive fall details at home

It’s my favorite time of year: It’s officially sweatshirts and shorts weather. Or better known as the time when temperatures cool, the leaves on the trees are bursting into charming colors, and we’re all going back inside.

As we look toward home, there are a few micro improvements that can make a macro impact on your space, mood, and sense of calm. In fact, studies have shown that bright lighting, bad odors, and complicated home layouts are connected to increased stress levels. So let’s fix that.

Don’t know where to start? It’s OK, I’ve got you. Here’s a fall refresh checklist to ensure you get the most out of being at home:

  • Move that couch: Redecorating isn’t always the answer. Sometimes, simply rearranging your furniture, plants, and artwork can breathe new life into a space. Don’t be afraid to reposition sitting areas toward natural light. You’ll need any rays of sun you can get during this season.
  • Lightbulbs matter: Did you know that the color of your bulbs can significantly impact the ambiance of your space? Opt for “warm” bulbs this time of year over “cool.” Layering lighting (say that five times fast) by adding floor or table lamps can also cozy up your space.
  • Get sensory: Fall is the perfect time to trade that cooling blanket for a chunky knit. Whether you’re choosing blankets or throw pillows, experiment with different fabrics — from velvet to wool to other textured fabrics.
  • Not-so-common scents: You can really warm up your space, often by simply lighting a candle. Choose autumnal scents, such as amber, cedar, or vanilla. I bought fall-inspired scented candles from Trader Joe’s, they’ve made my house feel even more like home.

Iran announces official end to 10-year-old nuclear agreement

Tehran terminates 2015 deal under which sanctions were lifted in return for curbs on country’s nuclear programme

An international deal with Iran designed to keep the world safe from the spread of atomic weapons has officially ended, with Tehran announcing the termination of the decade-old agreement.
