Ukraine signs strategic defense deals with Spain and Romania at DFNC3 forum

Ukrainian state defense conglomerate “Ukroboronprom” formalized partnerships with Spanish and Romanian arms manufacturers during the Defense and Security Technologies Forum DFNC3. The agreements include collaboration with Spanish firm Escribano on armored vehicles and air defense systems, and with Romanian group Romarm on joint development of technical solutions, unmanned platforms, and investment in defense projects, marking a notable step in deepening Ukraine’s integration with European defense capacities. According to UNN, these accords align with the European Defence Industrial Development Strategy (EDIS), aimed at strengthening the EU’s industrial resilience.

Boosting Europe’s defense capacity amid growing threats

The agreements address Europe’s persistent shortfall in munitions, drones, and air defense systems. Integrating Ukrainian defense production adds critical capacity, alternative supply chains, and rapid engineering capabilities refined in wartime conditions. European manufacturers stand to benefit from Ukraine’s expertise in equipment modernization and accelerated production, potentially shortening timelines for bringing new systems to market in response to Russian aggression. This cooperation also reduces costs through localized production and shared investment, enhancing efficiency across the continent.

Strategic significance of Ukraine’s defense integration with the EU

Ukraine’s inclusion in EDIS underlines its role as part of a wider European defense industrial base. Kyiv has established the EU Defence Innovation Office to foster technology exchange and coordination between Ukrainian and European defense players. Cooperation in defense manufacturing reflects Europe’s commitment to strategic autonomy, decreasing reliance on major suppliers and reinforcing collective security. This partnership demonstrates political solidarity and strengthens Europe’s eastern flank by transforming Ukraine into a fortified ally in direct confrontation with Russia.

Implications for European security and defense industry resilience

Beyond immediate operational benefits, joint defense projects signal a long-term shift in European security strategy. By embedding Ukrainian production into EU defense plans, Europe gains a more flexible, resilient, and self-sufficient military-industrial capacity. This collaboration strengthens deterrence against Russian aggression and underscores a collective responsibility to safeguard regional stability. For the EU, it is a move toward greater strategic independence and a demonstration of unified action in defense of the continent’s security.

Ukraine, positioned at the forefront of Europe’s eastern defense, now emerges as both a crucial military partner and a key contributor to Europe’s defense innovation and industrial sustainability.

DJ Sumit Sethi energizes Delhi’s Dandiya nights with festive performances and community spirit

Delhi’s festive spirit found its pulse in two massive Dandiya nights, both powered by DJ Sumit Sethi’s firebrand performances

DJ Sumit Sethi electrified the festive landscape of New Delhi with two back-to-back Dandiya nights on September 21 and September 27, drawing thousands of participants, reports 24brussels.

The performances took place at Ramleela Ground in Shalimar Bagh and Delhi University’s North Campus, featuring Sethi’s signature blend of Bollywood music, electronic beats, and live percussion. Both events transformed into festive concerts, showcasing vibrant dancers, drummers, and elaborate stage designs. Delhi’s Chief Minister, Smt. Rekha Gupta, attended both evenings, bolstering community engagement and celebration.

In Shalimar Bagh, Sethi opened the night with a devotional song, alongside CM Gupta, symbolizing the fusion of traditional and contemporary music. The crowd responded enthusiastically, welcoming an energetic night of dandiya and garba. At Delhi University, the atmosphere pulsated with youthful energy as thousands of students, dressed in traditional attire, danced to Sethi’s high-energy mixes.

A memorable moment occurred when CM Gupta addressed the audience with the ‘Shubhaarambh’ number, encouraging sing-alongs that heightened the festive spirit. “We’re thrilled to have been a part of these unforgettable nights! The energy was electric,” stated Sethi, thanking various local organizations that contributed to the success of the events.

Sethi’s sets went beyond conventional DJing, incorporating live musicians and choreographed performances, which echoed the aesthetics of international festival stages. The North Campus event, organized by the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) and Delhi Tourism, embraced a vibrant youth culture while Shalimar Bagh’s celebration focused on community participation, bridging generations of Navratri enthusiasts.

Notably, these events underscored the pivotal role of local institutions and community groups in shaping festive culture in Delhi. The blend of live drumming, esteemed guests, and modern DJ elements illustrated the evolving nature of urban festivals in India. “We wanted to give people something they’ll remember when they think about this year’s Navratri, and we hope we achieved that,” Sethi expressed.

With a reputation for seamlessly merging mainstream and traditional sounds, DJ Sumit Sethi has become a prominent figure in India’s music scene, performing at numerous large-scale events such as the IIFA Awards and the Commonwealth Games, as well as at celebrity weddings. HMD launches Touch 4G, a feature phone with touchscreen and basic apps

HMD Global Unveils HMD Touch 4G Feature Phone in India

The HMD Touch 4G, a new feature phone with a touchscreen, has debuted in India, but it is unlikely to be available in the US market. The device merges characteristics of smartphones and feature phones with a touchscreen interface and video calling capabilities, reports 24brussels.

Launched on October 7, 2025, the Touch 4G is priced at ₹4,999 (approximately $55). Despite its appearance resembling that of a smartphone, its compact design features a 3.2-inch screen and weighs only 100 grams. However, this diminutive size comes with significant limitations.

Unlike most modern phones, the HMD Touch 4G does not operate on Android; it employs a custom operating system known as RTOS Touch. Consequently, it lacks access to standard Android applications. Instead, users can utilize the Cloud Phone Service, a platform catering to basic HMD browser applications. While the phone supports messaging options like group chats and video calls via the Express Chat app, it requires friends using smartphones to also install the application for complete functionality.

Additional features include a headphone jack and USB-C charging. However, with only 128MB of internal storage, users may find it necessary to purchase a microSD card to expand their storage capacity.

The emergence of specialized devices like the HMD Touch 4G comes amid an evolving mobile landscape, where the demand for simple yet functional devices continues to persist. This launch signals HMD Global’s strategy to cater to a segment of the market that seeks affordability while maintaining basic smartphone capabilities.
