Pakistan: Parents strangle 2 children to death
In a tragic incident, a couple in the Khewra vicinity of Jehlum has been accused of strangling their two children, including a toddler, to death. A nine-month-old boy and an eight-year-old girl were allegedly killed by their father, Qaiser Ghouri, an electrician, while the mother, Sonia, has been accused of involvement. The police are currently gathering evidence to clarify the circumstances, reports 24brussels.
Authorities have confirmed that the children were discovered with signs of strangulation. As investigations proceed, police have arrested the father while the mother faces claims that she was complicit in the crime. Both parents are members of the Christian community, which adds a layer of community scrutiny to the case.
The bodies have been transported to Khewra Hospital for autopsy as police officials continue to explore all angles of the case. The incident has drawn significant attention in Pakistan, reflecting ongoing issues of domestic violence in the region.
In a separate but equally disturbing incident in Daska, Punjab, a man and his mother have been arrested for allegedly burning his wife. The woman, married just five months ago, reported that her mother-in-law held her down while her husband poured petrol on her and set her ablaze. The victim has called for justice, and police have initiated a First Information Report (FIR) against her in-laws.
Additionally, a woman in Sialkot suffered severe burns after her in-laws allegedly set her on fire due to her insistence on attending her brother’s reception. Her family stated that she has sustained 80% burns and is currently in critical condition, prompting police to register a case against her husband and relatives.
