LinkedIn enhances recruiter verification to combat hiring scams

LinkedIn Implements New Verification Process to Combat Recruitment Scams

LinkedIn is taking significant strides to curb recruitment scams by mandating that individuals with recruitment or executive job titles verify their workplaces. This new verification requirement extends to executives involved in hiring processes, as the platform broadens its effort to enhance trust among users, reports 24brussels.

The verification process aims to bolster job seekers’ confidence by ensuring that only legitimate recruiters and executives are identifiable on the platform. While current recruiters will not need to verify their statuses immediately, anyone who updates or adds a recruitment-related job title—such as “Recruiter” or “Talent Acquisition Specialist”—must complete the verification process.

Verification is free and primarily involves confirming possession of a company email address. Oscar Rodriguez, LinkedIn’s vice president of trust, emphasized that this update “helps job-seekers identify legitimate recruiters and avoid scams.” The platform already offers verified recruiter labels available to those with a paid LinkedIn recruiter license.

Executives will also undergo this verification, which is now compulsory for titles including “Executive Director” and “Vice President.” Additionally, LinkedIn has begun expanding its company page verification capabilities, transitioning from a previously limited access model that required special requests to one that is universally available to any company boasting a premium subscription.

Since the launch of the verification feature in 2023, LinkedIn reports that over 80 million users have successfully completed the verification process. Earlier this year, the platform expanded its verification beyond its own network, allowing users from platforms like Adobe to showcase “Verified on LinkedIn” badges.

Nvidia’s RTX 5080 upgrade for GeForce Now set for September 10, plus 17 new games added

Nvidia Announces Upcoming Upgrade for GeForce Now

Nvidia revealed that its GeForce Now cloud gaming service will upgrade to RTX 5080 GPUs on September 10. The enhancement enables subscribers to access cloud-based RTX 5080 capabilities, featuring a robust 48GB of memory and support for DLSS 4, reports 24brussels.

This RTX 5080 upgrade allows for impressive 5K resolution streaming at 60fps and 120fps, or 1440p at 240fps and 1080p at 360fps. Gamers will also benefit from full ray-tracing support through Neural Rendering and Multi Frame Generation, all for the existing price of $19.99 monthly for GeForce Now Ultimate.

The announcement about the upgrade coincided with Nvidia’s weekly updates, which mentioned the addition of 17 new games to the streaming service this month. Notable titles such as Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available from today, while Borderlands 4, Dying Light: The Beast, Jump Space, Endless Legend 2, and Cloverpit will follow later this month.

Nvidia stated, “On Wednesday, September 10th, Nvidia Blackwell RTX is coming to GeForce Now. To celebrate, next week’s GeForce Now announcements will come a day earlier to usher in the Blackwell era of GeForce Now.”

In addition, Nvidia is reintroducing an “Install-to-Play” feature, allowing users to install games on GeForce Now without having to wait for formal curation, significantly enhancing the service’s library.
