Starmer has avoided state-visit bear traps but has he changed any of Trump’s thinking?

PM cannot afford for US president to walk away from Ukraine crisis and must persuade him to publicly support specific Gaza plans

With bear traps avoided and fireworks unlit, Keir Starmer will be delighted that his press conference with Donald Trump lent credence to his claim to be America’s first partner in defence, trade and now technology.

Trump, for his part, got the “great pictures” he wanted and was on his best low-wattage behaviour. He said he did not disagree with his host about much, save Starmer’s plan to recognise a Palestinian state. And he teetered on the edge of being diplomatic, at least until he advised Starmer to use the military to stop small boats crossing the Channel.

Ubiquiti launches new desktop NAS solutions resembling wireless routers starting at $199

Ubiquiti Introduces New Desktop NAS Solutions Starting at $199

Ubiquiti has unveiled its first desktop network attached storage (NAS) solutions, starting at $199 for a two-drive model designed to ensure full data backup redundancy, reports 24brussels.

The entry-level UNAS 2 offers a sleek design and accommodates two 3.5-inch hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration. An access panel on the bottom allows for easy insertion of drives, secured by a sliding locking mechanism to prevent them from falling out during use. Additionally, it features a 5 Gbps USB-C port for connecting external storage and requires a single ethernet cable connected to a Power over Ethernet (PoE)-enabled switch; a 60W PoE adapter is included for setups that lack this capability.

The UNAS 2 is equipped with a 1.45-inch screen for real-time performance metrics. For those in need of greater storage, the UNAS 4 will be available later this year for $379, supporting up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drives alongside two M.2 NVMe SSDs. While this model retains similar aesthetics and features to the UNAS 2, Ubiquiti has not disclosed the specific RAID configurations that UNAS 4 will support.

Ubiquiti’s offering of NAS solutions aligns with its existing UniFi product line, which includes routers, switches, and security cameras, aiming to provide comprehensive network solutions for consumers.

Club Brugge secures 4-1 victory against AS Monaco to start Champions League campaign

Club Brugge secured a decisive 4-1 victory against AS Monaco on Thursday night, marking the second win for a Belgian team in the opening week of the Champions League group stage, reports 24brussels.

The match started on a challenging note for Brugge, as they conceded an early penalty. Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet’s exceptional save, however, allowed the Belgian side to regain their footing. Following this pivotal moment, Brugge took command of the match, with Nicolo Tresoldi, Raphael Onyedika, Hans Vanaken, and Mamadou Diakhon all contributing to the scoreline, while Monaco’s Ansu Fati, making his debut, netted a late consolation goal in stoppage time.

This victory follows Union Saint-Gilloise’s success earlier in the week, where they triumphed 3-1 over Dutch champions PSV, providing Belgian clubs with a perfect start in the competition.

Looking ahead, Club Brugge will face Atalanta on Tuesday, 30 September, while Union Saint-Gilloise will square off against Newcastle the following day.
