Hungary will withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC), its government said Wednesday, according to The Associated Press, as the country’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Budapest.
Von der Leyen said she deeply regretted the move and warned of “immense consequences” for the global economy, including vulnerable countries facing some of the highest US tariffs.
The European Union is preparing countermeasures to US President Donald Trump’s announcement of 20% tariffs on imports from the bloc, which it called a “major blow to the world economy.”
