Mangione was hit with four federal charges Thursday, including stalking, a firearms offense involving a silencer and murder through use of a firearm, a charge that makes him eligible for the death penalty.
The death toll from the Dec. 20 attack in Magdeburg, Germany — where a man drove a car into shoppers at a Christmas market — rose to five people as of Dec. 21. Officials noted that more than 200 people are injured, with 40 described as ‘seriously’ injured.
