Puerto Rico was hit by major power outage ahead of New Year’s celebrations. The cause of the outage remains unknown and a timeline of repairs could be days.
A woman who died after being set on fire on the New York City subway earlier this month was identified as Debrina Kawam, 57, of Toms River, New Jersey, the New York medical examiner’s office said on Tuesday.
The outage could mute celebrations this year, at a time where families typically visit relatives, pop champagne bottles and watch fireworks.
